Cold Weather Beauty Essentials
I absolutely love the cold weather. I think I crave it as a native Floridian because it’s so elusive here. So lately it’s been a treat to have consistent cold weather and get some good use out of my winter wardrobe. And it means it’s time to break out my Winter beauty essentials!
Confession – the longer I can go without washing my the better. Especially when it’s blow dried or straightened. When it’s cold I want my style to last even longer because who wants wet hair when it’s cold? Plus, I get to make use of some hats. So I use dry shampoo all the time. I’ve tried a lot of different brands but these are my favorites:
Splurge – Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo
I have super dry lips all year long but it is especially bad in the Winter so I have to take good care of them. I slather on Jouer Lip Enhancer at night (one of my favorite Birchbox finds). During the day, if they are feeling particularly dry I like to use Burt’s Bees Medicated Lip Balm but if I want some color I go for Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer or a Clinique Chubby Stick because they are both super moisturizing and have tons of pretty colors!
It’s no secret that skin is dryer in the cold weather and my hands feel dry as soon as the temp drops. I combat this by putting on hand lotion before bed and all day long. My go to lotions are any of the Bath & Body Works body lotions. I have a bunch on my nightstand, they all smell so good but Velvet Sugar might be favorite scent. I always keep one of the Victoria Secret Body Butters on my desk at work and an Eos Hand Lotion in my purse. I try to stay well prepared, with hand lotion always nearby.
We all know that drinking plenty of water is a crucial part of being healthy and making your skin look great but I know I really have to be conscious of my water intake when it’s cold outside. I reach for coffee or hot tea much more often to warm me up and really need to make sure I’m drinking water in between!
