Five for Friday

via

We made it to Friday! This week was one of those that are long but short at the same time. There was a lot going on and it feels like Friday came out of nowhere but some days at work seemed to drag on. Either way, I’m glad we’re here! Here’s five random thoughts going on in my head on this best day of the week:

ONE//We went from the 80’s yesterday to the 40’s today. How am I supposed to deal with that? Just when I put my boots and scarves in the back of my closet, I have to pull them back out! Don’t get me wrong, I love the cold weather but I also like consistency…

TWO//I’ve been completely ignoring the news lately. I usually read The Skimm every morning but I just can’t take anymore deadly diseases or politics right now. I know this is terrible and I need to be an educated member of society but I need a break. It also doesn’t help when the Iowa Caucus coverage is on at the same time as The Bachelor. Who thought that was a good idea!? My coworkers all asked me if I saw the results the next day and I said “No, but did you see what Olivia said!?” Clearly I have my priorities in order. :)

THREE//I cannot read anymore book review blog posts because my Goodreads “Want to Read” list just keeps growing and I’m making no progress. I’m ready for a long vacation where I can lounge by a pool and read all day. Does anyone offer a Quit Your Job to Read webinar?

FOUR//I couldn’t be more excited about the Gilmore Girls revival! It’s official! And I can’t wait to see what happens with Rory’s boyfriends!

FIVE//I’m a sucker for Valentine’s Day and these printable cards are the cutest!

I have a pretty big weekend ahead. I’ll be attending our local IF: Gathering – this will be a new experience for me but I’m really looking forward to it. And Sunday is the Super Bowl of course! Did you miss my Super Bowl Party Planning Ideas?

What are your weekend plans? Hope it’s a great one!

I watched the whole thing over again when it came to Netflix and it was the best few weeks of my life :)

I am thrilled over the Gilmore Girls revival too. LOVE that show.

It’s the best! I can’t wait even though I know I’m going to be sad and wanting more after only 4 more (long) episodes.

The dog in your meme looks like my dog!!! I had to double take! haha! I agree, I have been skipping The Skimm too lately because I cant handle any more political talk or scary mosquitoes! Our weather is all messed up to! We went from the 70s to the 30s. Hello sinus problems! Hope you have a great weekend!

Haha too funny…maybe your dog sneaks out for fancy car rides and you just don’t know it :) I just can’t think about all the crazy news! Hope you have a good weekend too Nadine!

I’m so glad I came across your blog today; we sound so similar! I can’t take the news anymore – it’s too scary and depressing. I choose to surround myself with The Bachelor news and watch Married at First Site (an AWESOME show). But seriously about Olivia…she is something else. I cannot wait for Gilmore to come back – I didn’t like how it ended!!

    • https://www.mysortofadultlife.com Jackie @ My Sort Of Adult Life

Oh my gosh we do sound similar! I like watching Married at First Sight too…it’s such an interesting experiment! I’m always rooting for the couples in it too. And I agree with you, the Gilmore Girls ending left a lot to be desired!

I honestly didn’t even realize the Super Bowl was this weekend. That’s what happens when you live in WI and the Packers don’t make it 😉 I can’t wait for the Gilmore Girls revival. I hope they bring back Jess. I didn’t really like the last guy.

    • https://www.mysortofadultlife.com Jackie @ My Sort Of Adult Life

Haha my fiance is a huge Packers fan and has been pretty much ignoring football since they were out. I hope they bring back Jess too, he was my favorite – I’m curious to see if he doesn’t come back since they dated in real life and it didn’t work out.

hold. the. phone. Gilmore Girls is coming back?! what? How did I not know about this? I agree about the News though. I like to say I am informed so I used to always turn on the morning news while I was getting ready but I just can’t take the stories! It is all trashy reality tv for me!

Girl! Where have you been?? :) You have to at least pay attention to news about Gilmore Girls!

I’m so so excited for the Gilmore Girls revival! I know how you feel about the GoodReads Want to Read list. I was actually deleting books off of it today and still have 400 books on it!

    • https://www.mysortofadultlife.com Jackie @ My Sort Of Adult Life

Oh geez! That’s more than me! Okay, I feel a little better now that it’s not just me! :)

  • Dana Brillante-Peller

This weekend is filled with flag football for my boys followed by a Superbowl party!
