Recipe: Green Pumpkin Smoothie
I prefer to start my day with a smoothie for breakfast. I’m usually in a hurry in the mornings so it’s something I can take on the go and get in all my key nutrients. When Fall hits, I like to mix up my normal fruit flavors with some seasonal flavors like Pumpkin. This Green Pumpkin Smoothie makes for a great breakfast or snack or a healthy Halloween treat!
- 1/2 can (15 oz) of Organic Pumpkin – Trader Joe’s canned pumpkin is my favorite
- 1/2 banana, frozen
- 1/4 cup non-fat vanilla greek yogurt
- 1/3 cup spinach leaves
- 1 scoop protein powder – I always use plant based protein powder
- 1/3 cup almond milk
Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Add a few ice cubes if you want a thicker smoothie. You can also add some honey if you are new to “green” smoothies and need it to be a little sweeter!
