It’s time for Show Us Your Books! Here’s the books I’ve read since the last link-up, in order of my favorite to least favorite:
4 out of 5 stars
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
This is one of the first books I’ve read that almost lives up to it’s reputation of “a mystery as thrilling as The Girl on the Train”, almost but not quite. I really enjoyed the book, I didn’t want to put it down and really wanted know what happened next. The twists in it also took my complete surprise. I really liked the main character Aubrey, until the end. I wasn’t a huge fan of the ending, but appreciated the fact that you found out what happened to everyone. Definitely recommend it for mystery/thriller lovers.

I really enjoyed this book, I think it was a great YA novel, that really tapped into all the emotions that everyone feels leaving high school. I loved the characters and was super invested in the love story. I also loved the Native American stories woven into it. The lack of ending brought it down for me though. Read a full review here.

I was slightly disappointed by After You. I went into it treating it as a separate story from Me Before You as I saw a lot of people recommend but I still didn’t love it. I liked the Luisa in Me Before You better, she felt like an entirely different character, and the story just seemed to move a little slow. I think I would have been fine it all ended after Me Before You.

I struggled to finish this one. It follows a woman throughout the months following her husband leaving her for a younger woman. The reason I didn’t enjoy it could be that I don’t relate to her situation at all, but I think she was an absolute nut job who completely neglected her children. I also thought the book was unnecessarily too vulgar. It was too much for me. I say skip this one.
